Site Policies

Howdy!

Below are the site’s policies. They are here because sometimes, we’re not all operating within the same ethical or legal structures, and so here is how things will go with regard to various interactions on the site.

By visiting this website, you agree that:

You will abide by the terms of service and privacy policies of relevant service providers, mainly WordPress (website host).

Table of Contents

The Basics

If you’re here to cause trouble or exploit anyone or any system for personal amusement or monetary gain, whether your intent is criminal or just plain mean and unethical, this is not the site for you.

You also recognize that this site is open to the public, wherein “public” means “anyone.” However, this is not a public forum, wherein this instance “public” means “the people of a state.” This is a privately managed space with an open-door invite. There is a difference!

I have a right to remove comments or deny service to users who are violating these policies or generally making me or others miserable, and I don’t owe anyone an explanation. Boundaries, y’all.

Refund Policy

Your support is an act of kindness, but it doesn’t grant you license to direct, manage, or influence the contents of my work or website.

Reasonable refund requests should be made within 14 days or whatever the refund laws in your jurisdiction dictate.

Unreasonable refund requests or refund requests made in bad faith will not be recognized unless required by refund laws in relevant jurisdictions.

Comment and Contact Policy

Don’t violate laws, don’t post hateful material, and don’t post anyone’s private information, including your own!

To repeat what is was stated earlier: I have a right to remove comments or deny service to users who are violating these policies or generally making me or others miserable, and I don’t owe anyone an explanation. Boundaries, y’all.

Piracy and Plagiarism

You will abide by international and United States copyright laws.

You will not plagiarize my content, which includes re-publishing the content, whether or not you or your organization credit me, for personal, educational, commercial, or non-commercial purposes. Quotes and citations should meet the bare-minimum standards of academic integrity and include at least my name, the title of the work, and date of publication. Quoted content should not exceed the academic standards of quotations.

Content includes writing, media of all types, and any other data on this website.

Summary

I’m asking for you to recognize I’m just one person out here trying my best, and I ask that you try your best too. Don’t be the person who causes such an unethical and unreasonable fuss about site usage and refunds that I have to create an FAQ with scenarios that seem like fiction but are really based in the reality of our terrible interactions, so that I’m basically hyper-protecting myself from people like you in the future. Don’t be that person!
