Chapter 10 of Flicker (Season One of The Fire of Felwing series) is now available!
Lots of trial and error with the vibes images for this one. First, I tried to see if I could re-create the opening scene, and that flopped. Next, I figured I could generate one of the key items that appears in the scene, and I wasn’t pleased with how it turned out. Then, I figured, “Ah, what the heck, let’s just see what Varin looks like.”
Let’s just say that those curated posts of my upcoming AI Masterpieces and Mishaps series will probably open with the portraits of Varin.
I tried again to re-create the opening scene, with some success, but DALL-E 2 kept swapping certain details of the two characters. I then gave up and tried to get it to produce a painted portrait of Corian Scaleborn. It’s imperfect, but serves as a starting point for any future art by humans who are better equipped to create her.
Anyway, here’s what DALL-E produced. It’s got a Girl With a Pearl Earring (Johannes Vermeer) thing going on, don’t you think?
